The Aristocrats

The is very much a "leave the kids at home" sort of movie. It was also, however, wonderfully funny. The subject matter of the movie is the joke of the same name. A joke comedians typically only tell to other comedians. A joke whose entire purpose is to push well past the boundaries of taste.

You'll either be disgusted or impressed, and perhaps both.

Something else appealed to me about the movie. There are some strong similarities between "The Aristocrats" (the joke) and my favorite joke of all time, "Hobbin and Bobbin." The similarity is that the real meat of the joke is in the art of telling it, not the content itself.

Oh, and I love anything that's "meta." A joke that joke-tellers only tell other joke-tellers, and on top of that, once the movie has set up the proper context, jokes about the joke that joke-tellers only tell other joke-tellers. FTW!
